Born in Scranton PA ... yes the place of 'The Office' and went to High School in Pittston Area High. I am currently a Sophomore majoring in Biological Engineering. The starting project I am being trained on relates to generating insectical plants. More specifically, transgenic tomatoes with proteins extressed into the apoplastic space outside of the cells. I also enjoy crochet.

Research Project

My work is a follow-up on the transgenic plants generated by David Krum, currently pursuing his PhD at MIT. The idea was based on whitefly eggs taking up proteins after they are laid on the leaf (as evidenced by doubling in size after being laid). This work is described in Appendix A of his honors thesis. I am assisting in the gene segregation and screening.
