My research project is related to crop protection where the goal is to characterize a stress inducible promoter that will 'turn on' plant protective functions when the plant is exposed to stresses like drought, virus infection, etc. Different truncations of the dehydrin (Tas14) promoter are driving the expression of the new reporter mNeonGreen and will be tested under different conditions after calibration with the ubiquitous stress metabolite abscisic acid.
