Background

I am an undergraduate majoring in Civil Engineering and Biology. I joined Dr. Curtis’s lab my freshman year and started working on the ECO-CBET project concerning transient expression in duckweed in my second year. I really enjoy how the project combines both of my majors/interests as the main part involves biology, but its practical application involves civil/environmental engineering.

Research Project

Increase amino acid quality in duckweed, by transient expression. This project mainly involves increasing the amino acid content of duckweed for it to be used as an animal feed for cows and removing excess nitrogen, phosphorus and carbon by wastewater treatment.
