Background:

I received a B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology, and Individualized: Plant Biotechnology from the University of Connecticut.

Currently a third-year Ph.D. candidate in Plant Biology.

Projects: NSF/GATES BREAD (Basic Research to Enable Agricultural Development)

Improving yam (Dioscorea rotundata) propagation and transformation systems through:

    • Using inducible transcription factors to initiate somatic embryogenesis (SE)

    • Understanding how phytocyanin-like arabinogalactan proteins enhance SE

    • Testing low-cost and efficient temporary immersion bioreactors (TIBs)
