Andrew Miles Profile

Andrew Miles

Background:

I am currently an undergraduate student at Penn State majoring in Biology and Philosophy. In the future I hope to pursue graduate studies in plant pathology.

I live in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on a large farm where I show and breed exhibition quality animals (chickens, rabbits, and cavies). I also love to travel and visit new places where I get meet new people!

Projects:

Currently I work at the Central Pennsylvania Research and and Teaching Laboratory for Biofuels. There I work with tissue culture systems and apply molecular techniques to manipulate the genome of plants. As of the summer of 2019, I am working with both flax and Brachypodium. Penn State’s Multi-Campus Research Experience for Undergraduates (MC REU) program brought me to CurtisLab to learn from and research in collaboration with Dr. Curtis and his team.
